Alcohol Policy — The Raven Warehouse

At The Raven Warehouse, we strive to provide a safe, enjoyable, and legally compliant environment for all guests. As a BYO (Bring Your Own) alcohol venue, we place the responsibility for alcohol service and consumption directly on the event host. This Alcohol Policy outlines the expectations, responsibilities, and legal obligations of all parties involved in any event where alcohol is present.

1. BYO Alcohol Only

• The Raven Warehouse does not supply, sell, or serve any alcoholic beverages.
• All alcohol consumed on-site must be brought in by the host or their guests.

2. NO GLASS BOTTLES POLICY

For the safety of all guests, staff, and performers, glass bottles are strictly prohibited inside The Raven Warehouse. This applies to all BYO alcohol, mixers, or beverages.

Any glass bottles brought to the venue will be confiscated and not returned. Repeated disregard of this policy may result in event cancellation without refund and possible removal from the premises.

This rule is enforced without exception and is a condition of entry to all events.

3. Host Responsibility

• The event host is solely responsible for ensuring that all alcohol service and consumption complies with Queensland liquor laws.
• If alcohol is served at the event, the host must ensure no persons under the legal drinking age of 18 are allowed to consume alcohol.
• The host is expected to take all reasonable measures to prevent excessive drinking, intoxication, or disruptive behavior.

4. Supervision of Underage Guests

• If guests under 18 years of age will be in attendance, the host is required to:
• Notify venue management at the time of booking.
• Provide the names and contact details of at least six (6) responsible supervising adults or parents.
• Ensure these supervisors are actively monitoring underage guests throughout the event.
• Under no circumstances are underage guests permitted to consume alcohol on the premises.

5. Security & Monitoring

• The Raven Warehouse may provide licensed security personnel for select events; these personnel are independent contractors and not employed by the venue.
• Security will monitor general conduct and report any suspected underage drinking or unsafe behavior to the host.
• However, security staff are not responsible for checking identification, preventing underage drinking, or enforcing liquor laws — this remains the sole responsibility of the host.

6. Breaches & Consequences

• If any breach of liquor laws occurs — including underage drinking, intoxication-related incidents, or disturbances involving alcohol:
• The Raven Warehouse reserves the right to terminate the event immediately without refund.
• Local authorities may be contacted if the situation warrants intervention.
• The host accepts full legal and financial responsibility for any fines, penalties, or legal actions resulting from such breaches.

7. Liability & Indemnification

• By hosting an event at The Raven Warehouse, the host agrees to:
1. Indemnify and hold harmless The Raven Warehouse from any liability arising from alcohol-related incidents.
2. Accept full responsibility for any injury, accident, property damage, or legal action caused by or related to alcohol consumption at the event.

8. Responsible Hosting Guidelines

To help ensure a smooth and safe event, we recommend the following:
• Provide food and non-alcoholic beverages at your event.
• Avoid serving hard liquor in large quantities or punch-style mixtures.
• Assign sober supervisors or support staff.
• Remind guests of the importance of responsible drinking and respectful behavior.
